Nuneaton, Bedworth and District Mencap Society is a registered Charity.  It is affiliated to Royal Mencap.

The objectives of our society are:

  • To provide and support people with a learning disabilities, their families, dependants and carers.
  • To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time activities, for people who are members of our society who have a learning disability, with the object of improving their quality of life, in line with their ability.


Service Access

Age range:

0-5 yrs , 6-11 yrs , 12-16 yrs , 17-18 yrs , 19-24 yrs , 25-44 yrs , 45-64 yrs , 65-74 yrs , 75-84 yrs , 85+ yrs


People with a learning disability of all ages.


There is a yearly Membership fee which at present is £5.00. The Membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March each year. There are additional costs for the various activities we provide.

The building has two floors. There is access to the first floor via a lift.

Most activities are held at Cherwynd House, The Parade, off Princes St, Nuneaton CV11 5NR.

Senior Group activities: Monday Evening  Keep Fit Group, Tuesday Evening Swimming at the Pingles with passport to leisure, Wednesday morning Cookery Class, afternoon Art Class, alternate Thursday Evenings Senior Stars group/ Thursday Group, first Friday of the month Bingo Session, alternate Saturday evenings Disco/Games.

Junior activities: Mencap Stars  Monday's Holiday Club 10.30am to 12.30pm (school holidays only). Friday's Holiday Club1.00pm to 3.30pm (school holidays only) 

Alternate Saturdays Junior Disco from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
