If you are interested in learning about, or growing, plants and vegetables of any kind then Austrey Gardening Society is for you.
AGS members enjoy a minimum of 6 talks each year given by speakers on a range of topics. From how to take cuttings or plant up hanging baskets, to interesting and informative slideshows on the flowers of the coast or on butterflies in your garden; there is something for everyone.
In addition, we visit at least 2 attractions annually, including plant nurseries, gardens, flower shows, and nature conservation venues.
Additional events run by the AGS are our Members’ Christmas Party, and our popular village Supper and Quiz Night.
The AGS also organises the biannual Village Show which is held in September. A village cornucopia of vegetables, flowers, and home-cooked produce, the Village Show is free to enter and is open to all.
Whether your gardening ambitions take place within a large space, a small back yard, an allotment, or simply on your kitchen windowsill, then the AGS is for you. You'll enhance your gardening knowledge, make new friends, and gain access to a wealth of expertise and inspiration.
Our regular meetings take place at Austrey Village Hall at 7.30pm on the first Friday of every month. Annual membership is currently £8.
