Age UK Coventry and Warwickshire Befriending Service

The Befriending Service helps and supports over 70s to live independently by providing regular contact to help them to reduce any loneliness and social isolation.

That's why our befrienders are so important. Regular contact from a volunteer really can make a big difference to older people's lives.

The service is currently being delivered by way of a weekly or fortnightly telephone call from a Befriending Volunteer. All our volunteers and staff are DBS checked. Our Befrienders are not professional advisers or care workers and so they will not be able to give specific advice or undertake personal care tasks.

There is no charage but donations are always welcome

This scheme is much in demand so we do need to give priority to those people who do not have other regular visitors.

  • Age 70 and over
  • Living in Coventry & Warwickshire
  • Do not receive regular visits from family/friends

We are unable to accept referrals for this service where there is a diagnosis of Dementia. However, there are a number of other services which may be of assistance to anyone affected by Dementia including carers, family and friends.

These include Information and Advice, Legal Clinics, Helping Hand and Home Support, Dementia Support Services etc
