The Warwickshire Directory provides useful information about local organisations, groups and agencies that provide activities, advice, and services which may support you.  We provide the information for you in good faith and make every effort to keep it accurate and up to date but we cannot guarantee this and so it is your responsibility to check the accuracy of the information before use. Some of the information may be provided or posted by a third party or have links to external sites.  We are not responsible for this content and again, you need to satisfy yourself that the information is correct.

Warwickshire County Council will not approve inappropriate content and has the right to not approve, remove or edit content of organisations from the Warwickshire Directory.  We will not pass any personal data on to third parties other than those who process information on our behalf or because of a legal requirement.

Welcome to Warwickshire’s Directory of Services for the Community (the “Site”).

If you continue to browse and use this Site, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of use (the “Terms”), which govern our relationship with you as users of this Site. If you disagree with any part of these Terms then please do not use the Site.

The Purpose of the Site

The Site is a venue for local organisations, groups and agencies (known as service providers) to promote a range of activities, information, advice and services to support residents of Warwickshire using this Site.

We provide tools which enable service providers to provide useful information on their services to you but we are not involved in the actual agreement between you and the provider.

As a result, SERVICE PROVIDERS are responsible for:-

  • the quality, safety and legality of the services they provide; and 
  • the truth and accuracy of their information.

And YOU as SITE USERS are responsible for:-

  • checking the accuracy of the information before use.

Approval Schemes

There are various schemes which SERVICE PROVIDERS can apply to join which give YOU as the SITE USER some reassurances in respect of the standard of services you can expect to receive. Some of the schemes included are (but not limited to);

  • Buy with Confidence Scheme; and
  • Safe Places Scheme.

Where a SERVICE PROVIDER has been approved or is a member of a particular scheme, a “flag” with the logo of the relevant scheme they are a member of/approved by will appear next to their name when they appear in a list of search results.  In addition, a “flag” will indicate when a SERVICE PROVIDER has a contract for services with the County Council. Whilst we will do our best to keep this information up to date we cannot warrant that the information provided is accurate at a given point in time.

Please note that the Council does not recommend any particular SERVICE PROVIDERS and is not responsible for the quality, safety and legality of the services provided the SERVICE PROVIDERS, YOU as the SITE USER remain responsible for undertaking any necessary checks prior to engaging a SERVICE PROVIDER.

Other than fees which may be payable by SERVICE PROVIDERS under a particular scheme, we do not charge either providers or users to use the Site.

We are giving you (together with other users) the right to use the Site for your personal use.

Use of this Site

  • The use of this Site is subject to the following terms of use:
  • The content of the pages of this Site is for your general information and use only and it is subject to change without notice; 
  • We do not recommend or endorse any of the services on the Site. 
  • We cannot provide any warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, performance, completeness or suitability of the information and materials found or offered on this Site for any particular purpose. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law; 
  • Your use of any information or materials on this Site is entirely at your own risk, for which we shall not be liable. It shall be your own responsibility to ensure that any products, services or information available through this Site meet your specific requirements; 
  • This Site contains material which is owned by or licensed to us. This material includes, but is not limited to, the design, layout, look, appearance and graphics. Reproduction is prohibited without our prior permission; 
  • All trademarks reproduced in this Site, which are not the property of, or licensed to the operator, are acknowledged on the Site; 
  • Unauthorised use of this Site may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence; 
  • You must not use or access the Site in any way that adversely affects the performance or function of the Site, or any other computer systems or networks used by us or the Site, or infringes our copyright or any copyright of providers. 
  • From time to time, this Site may also include links to other sites. These links are provided for your convenience to provide further information. They do not signify that we endorse the site(s). We have no responsibility for the content of the linked site(s); 
  • You will only be able to view services offered by providers who are registered members of the Directory. 
  • Your use of this Site and any dispute arising out of such use of the Site shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and each party submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Site User Feedback

We would like you to tell us what you think about the organisations that provide services on this Site. You can do this registering on the Site and completing an online survey. Your feedback is extremely important to us and the service providers.

Any feedback that you provide will be used to monitor and improve the effectiveness of the Site. We will share your feedback with the organisations that provide the service. We will not pass any personal data on to third parties other than those who process information on our behalf or because of a legal requirement.

Our Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy online.

If you are a user with general public access, the Site does not store or capture personal information, but merely logs a number called your IP address which is automatically recognised by the system.

The system will record personal information if you:

  • register on the Site; 
  • report a fault and give your contact details for us to respond; or 
  • contact us and leave your details for us to respond.

We will ensure that any personal information recorded about you is treated in compliance with applicable law.  We collect your personal information for the purposes of administering the Site, including the administration of accounts, as well as contacting you when there are changes to the site.  We will not use your personal information for any other purpose and will not pass it onto third parties without your consent (unless that information is already publically available).

We employ cookie technology to help log visitors to the Site.  A cookie is a string of information that is sent by a website and stored on your hard drive or temporarily in your computer's memory. The information collected is used for the administration of the server and to improve the service provided by the Site. No personal information is collected this way.  You can reject the use of cookies but you may be asked for information again, e.g. to participate in a survey.

Identity Verification

We will make every effort to make sure that only genuine providers have access to this Site but this cannot be guaranteed.

Site Content

We have no duty to pre-screen content posted on the Site by providers (including, without limitation, reviews of any particular service) and we are not responsible for provider-contributed content.
We do not represent or warrant that any of the copy, content, suitability, pricing or availability information published on the Site is accurate or up-to-date even in the case where prospective users have searched for specific services or specific dates.

We reserve the right at all times to disclose any information on the Site as permitted by prevailing law to satisfy any law, regulation or government request.

Limitation of Liability

In no event will Warwickshire County Council, or any of its officers, members or employees be liable for any lost profits or any indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages arising out of, based on, or resulting from our Site, these Terms, your use of the Site and/or any transaction between providers and users, even if we or they have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

We do not warrant that the functions of the Site or any materials or content contained therein will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or the server that makes it available is free of viruses or other harmful components, although we will take reasonable steps to avoid ourselves introducing viruses or other harmful components to the Site.

In the event that you have a dispute with one or more providers (including, without limitation, any dispute regarding a transaction with them or their information on the Site), you hereby agree to release and discharge us from all liabilities, claims and expenses which arise out of or in connection with that dispute.

Notification of Infringing Content

If you see or experience any provider-contributed or other content, activity or communication through or in connection with the Site, that appears to infringe any requirement of these terms and conditions, we would like you to contact us immediately. We rely upon users of the Site to notify us of infringing content, activity and communications.

Amendments

We reserve the right to change these Terms from time to time, and post the new version of these Terms on the Site. When we do so, we will notify you of the fact that there are changed Terms on the Site, and the new version of these Terms will take effect, and will govern this Site and your relationship with us starting on the date we indicate in the relevant posting. If you do not wish to be governed by the new version of these Terms, you may notify us in writing and from that date you must cease to use this Site.

Miscellaneous

These Terms are intended to constitute the entire agreement between us and you with respect to your use of the Site. We may immediately terminate any user's access to or use of the Site due to such user's breach of these Terms or other unauthorized use of the Site. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of any such right or provision. If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of these Terms, or portion thereof, to be unenforceable, that provision shall deemed severed, and the remainder of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.

We reserve the right to assign these Terms (and our agreement with you), but will not do so in such a way as to reduce any guarantees you are given under these Terms.

Welcome to Warwickshire’s Directory of Services for the Community (the “Site”).

You acknowledge that by using or accessing the Site that you are subject to the following terms and conditions (the "Terms").

You should read through the Terms carefully; they constitute a legally binding agreement.

1. The Site, Eligibility Criteria and Registration

1.1. The Site acts as a venue for local organisations, groups and agencies (the “Service Providers”).
1.2. In order to use or access the Site you must be offering activities, information, advice or services (“the Services”) in at least one of the categories listed on the Site to support residents in Warwickshire (the “Site Users”). If you are a registered childcare provider, please contact the Warwickshire Family Information Service.
1.3. You will need to register using the ‘add Organisation’ application form.
1.4. We will review your application and reserve the right to contact you for further information regarding the validity of your application.
1.5. In some instances your details may be included on the Site as a result of data sharing with other organisations or inclusion in other directories. If this occurs, we will contact you as soon as is reasonably practicable to ensure that you have no objections.
1.6. If there are concerns about the inclusion of a particular Service Provider, decisions with regard to inclusion or exclusion will be taken by the Directory's Governing Board and the Board’s decision is final.
1.7. If your registration is successful, you will be free to use the Site subject to these Terms.
1.8. Every effort will be made to ensure that only bona fide Service Providers have access to Site but this cannot be guaranteed.
1.9. The information on the Site is provided in good faith. We do not recommend or endorse any of the Services nor can we guarantee the quality, safety or legality of the Services offered. The truth or accuracy of the listings (including the content) is the sole responsibility of the Service Providers and Site Users are responsible for making their own checks prior to use.

1.A Approval Schemes

1A.1 There are various schemes which Service Providers can apply to join which gives the Site Users some reassurances in respect of the standard of services they can expect to receive from Service Providers. Some of the schemes included are (but not limited to);

  • Buy with Confidence Scheme; and
  • Safe Places Scheme.

If you subscribe to a particular scheme you will need to comply with any relevant additional terms and conditions of that scheme which will be made clear to you on applying for approval/membership. This includes any fee which may be payable on application and/or approval.

If you are a member or have approval under any particular scheme or have a contract with the County Council for similar goods or services you are listed as providing on the Directory, then there will be a “flag” to indicate this next to your organisation’s name on the Site. If approval/membership of the scheme is revoked/lost/not renewed, or the contract with the Council terminates then these “flags” will be removed from the point the Council is reasonably aware that this has occurred. Where relevant Service Providers must provide the Council with the relevant information to ensure the Site is up to date.

Please note that the Council makes it clear to Site Users that it does not recommend any particular Service Providers and is not responsible for the quality, safety and legality of the services provided the Services Providers and that the Site Users remain responsible for undertaking any necessary checks prior to engaging Service Providers.

2. Service Use

2.1. Other than fees which may be payable by Service Providers under a particular scheme, we do not charge either Service Providers or Site Users to access the Site.  Accordingly, we grant Service Providers a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to access the Site to advertise their Services to Site Users to view or make legitimate enquiries to Service Providers regarding their interest in particular services for their personal use, all in accordance with these Terms.  Any other use of the Site is expressly prohibited. Importantly, this license does not include any right of collection, aggregation, copying, duplication, display or derivative use of the Site nor any right of use of data mining, robots, spiders or similar data gathering and extraction tools without our prior written permission; provided, however, that a limited exception from the foregoing exclusion is provided to general purpose internet search engines and non-commercial public archives that use tools to gather information for the sole purpose of displaying hyperlinks to the Site, provided they each do so from a stable IP address or range of IP addresses using an easily identifiable agent.

3. Proprietary Rights

3.1. The text, files, images, photos, maps and other materials on the Site must be used in accordance with these Terms. All content on the Site, and the Site itself, is protected by copyright and database rights, and you will abide by any and all additional copyright notices, information, or restrictions contained in or relating to any content on the Site. Copying or storing of any content is expressly prohibited without the prior written permission from us or the applicable copyright holder.

4. Unauthorized Use

4.1. Unless otherwise provided within these Terms, or unless otherwise applicable law requires us to allow you to do so, you agree not to do any of the following:

  • use the Site for unlawful purposes;
  • copy, reproduce, upload, post, display, republish, distribute, or transmit any part of the content in any form whatsoever;
  • reproduce any portion of the Site on your website or otherwise, using any device including, but not limited to, use of a frame or border environment around the Site, or other framing technique to enclose any portion or aspect of the Site, or mirror or replicate any portion of the Site;
  • modify, translate into any language or computer language, or create derivative works from, any content or any part of this Site;
  • reverse engineer any part of this Site, save to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
  • sell, offer for sale, transfer, or license any portion of the Site in any form to any third parties;
  • use any robot, spider, other automatic device, or manual process to monitor, copy, or keep a database copy of the content or any portion of the Site;
  • to transmit or communicate any material which is obscene, offensive, blasphemous, pornographic, unlawful, threatening, menacing, abusive, harmful, an invasion of privacy, defamatory, libelous, vulgar or otherwise objectionable;
  • to transmit or communicate any material which infringes our or any other person's copyrights, trademarks, patents, moral rights or other intellectual property rights without formal permission or license;
  • to transmit or communicate any material that contains images, audio or video recordings, software or other material protected by intellectual property laws (or by the rights of confidentiality or privacy, where applicable) unless you own or control the rights thereto and have received all necessary consents and agreement in relation to any third parties' interest in the material;
  • to transmit or communicate any material which is likely to have a detrimental effect on our or any other person's reputation;
  • harvest content or IP addresses or transmit or communicate any material which contains software viruses or any other files or programs that may interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of this Site or server or any other computer or that contains any unsolicited or unauthorised materials, chain letters, junk mail, spam or similar;
  • to transmit any material which is likely to cause harm to our or anyone else's computer systems, including but not limited to any virus, code, worm, data or other routine purposely designed to damage or cause any defect, error, malfunction or corruption to any computer system;
  • to transmit or communicate any material in breach of the Computer Misuse Act 1990;
  • to post or transmit any information that constitutes or contains false or misleading indications of origin or statements of fact;
  • to impersonate or falsely state or misrepresent your organisation with any entity or person including without limitation ourselves, or other Directory members;
  • to delete any author contributions, legal notices or proprietary designations or labels in any file which is uploaded or falsify the origin or source of the material which is transmitted or communicated;
  • to provide Services that are not appropriate to Site User;
  • to operate the account in such a way that is not appropriate when dealing with vulnerable people;
  • to advertise or trade any services that are specifically targeted at children; and
  • to use the data collected from Site Users of the Site for anything other than the delivery of the services.

4.2. If you are aware of or experience any content, activity or communication through or in connection with the Site that appears to be in violation of the above, or in violation of any other provision of these Terms, we ask that you please inform us of any such violation please contact use immediately.

5. Changes to Site or Unavailability of Site

5.1. We may change, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the Site at any time, including the availability of any Site features, database, or content, where we have legal, commercial or technical reasons to do so. We may also impose limits on certain features or services or restrict your access to parts or the entire Site for similar reasons.
5.2. There may also be times when the Site becomes inaccessible as a result of technical difficulties experienced by us or on the Internet. We will, however, use reasonable skill and care to overcome these difficulties where they are within our control. Please note, however, that we cannot guarantee continuous access to the Site or any of its specific features.

6. Our Privacy Policy and Email Marketing

6.1. By becoming a registered member of this Site, we will make sure that you are only contacted on subjects that are pertinent to the Services you offer and will not pass on your information to third parties without your consent (unless that information is already publically available).

7. Data Transmittal

7.1. Your data will be transferred to, processed and held by an accredited secure storage site. We will ensure that your data is treated in compliance with applicable law.

8. Limitations of Use of Site User's Information; No Spam

8.1. You agree that, with respect to Site Users' personal information that you obtain through the Site or through any Site-related communication or any Site-facilitated transaction, we have granted to you a license to use such information only for: (a) any Site-related communications that are not unsolicited commercial messages, (b) using the Services offered through the Site, (c) facilitating a transaction between you and the Site User and (d) any other purpose that a user expressly agrees to after you tell them the purpose you would like to use it for. In all cases, you must give Site Users an opportunity to remove themselves from your address book or database and a chance to review what information you have collected about them. In addition, under no circumstances, except as defined in this provision, can you disclose personal information about a Site User without the consent of the user. You agree that Site Users may use your information to communicate with you in accordance with this provision. Further, you agree that you will protect Site Users' personal information with the same degree of care that you protect your own confidential information, and you assume all liability for the misuse, loss, or unauthorized transfer of such information.

9. Responsibility for Service Provider-Contributed Content

9.1. We have no duty to pre-screen content posted on the Site by Service Providers (including, without limitation, reviews of any particular service) and we are not responsible for provider-contributed content. We do, however, reserve the right to decline to permit the posting on the Site of, or to remove from, any provider-contributed content that fails to meet our content requirements. We may also remove provider-contributed content if it is brought to our attention, such as by notice given to us under Clause 4.2, or any other requirements governing the posting of such content has or have been apparently breached in respect of that provider-contributed content.
9.2. All Service Providers’ content on the Site is submitted by the Service Provider and is the responsibility of the Service Provider and we specifically disclaim any and all liability arising from the alleged accuracy of the Service Provider details entered on the Site. Service Providers are solely responsible for keeping their information up to date on the Site, where relevant and informing us of any changes including, but not limited to any and all representations about any of the Services offered, its location, and its availability for a specific date or range of dates. We do not represent or warrant that any of the copy, content, property location, suitability, pricing or availability information published on the Site is accurate or up-to-date even in the case where prospective Site Users have searched for specific special offers or specific dates. We reserve the right at all times to disclose any information as permitted by prevailing law to satisfy any law, regulation or government request.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1. In no event will Warwickshire County Council, or any of their officers, directors or employees be liable for any lost profits or any indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages arising out of, based on, or resulting from our Site, these Terms, your use of the Site and/or any transaction between you and Site Users, even if we or they have been advised of the possibility of such damages. These limitations and exclusions apply without regard to whether the damages arise from (1) breach of contract, (2) breach of warranty, (3) strict liability, (4) tort, (5) negligence, or (6) any other cause of action, to the maximum extent such exclusion and limitations are not prohibited by applicable law. If you are dissatisfied with the Site, you do not agree with any part of these Terms, then your sole and exclusive remedy against us is to discontinue using the Site.

11. Disclaimer

11.1. We warrant that the Site will be provided with reasonable care and skill with the intention of meeting our technical specifications for the Site, but we cannot and do not guarantee that the Site will meet your requirements, including (without limitation) as to the availability or speed of delivery of the Site, any of its features of content, any communication through or relating to the Site, or any transaction you may enter into with Site Users. Except as expressly stated elsewhere in these Terms, all representations, warranties, conditions and other terms relating to the Site or any of its content, whether express or implied (by common law, statute, collaterally or otherwise) are hereby excluded, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law. We do not warrant that the functions of the Site or any materials or content contained therein will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or the server that makes it available is free of viruses or other harmful components, although we will take reasonable steps to avoid ourselves introducing viruses or other harmful components to the Site.

12. Release

12.1. In the event of a dispute with one or more Service Providers (including, without limitation, any dispute between Service Providers regarding any transaction or provider-contributed content, you hereby agree to release and discharge us from all liabilities, claims and expenses which arise out of or in connection with that dispute.

13. Site User Feedback

13.1. We will ask our Site Users to provide us with feedback about their experiences of the Services that you provide via the 'Rate this Service' facility. We will share this feedback with you and use it to monitor and improve the effectiveness of the Site.
13.2. If we receive any negative feedback from Site Users for e.g. that provider-contributed content is inaccurate or that it does not properly reflect the Services provided, we will allow you a reasonable opportunity to put this right and if your fail to do so, we reserve the right to immediately remove you from the Site pursuant to Clause 25.

14. Indemnity

14.1. You agree to indemnify us against all liabilities, claims and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that may arise out of or in connection with (a) any breach of these Terms by you or through a machine on which you access the Site; (b) any of your provider-contributed content infringing these Terms or the rights of any person or entity; or (c) any other transaction to which you are party or that is entered into in connection with this Site.
14.2. If any claim is made against us that you indemnify us for then (a) we will have the right to conduct its defence and settlement, but (b) we will take reasonable account of any representations you make to us as to such defence and settlement.

15. Choice of Law and Forum

15.1. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

16. Notification of Infringing Content

16.1. If you see or experience any provider-contributed or other content, activity or communication through or in connection with the Site, that appears to infringe any requirement of these Terms, we would like you to contact us immediately. We rely upon any users of the Site to notify us of infringing content, activity and communications.

17. Amendments

17.1. We reserve the right to change these Terms from time to time, and post the new version of these Terms. When we do so, we will notify Service Providers of the fact that there are changed Terms on the Site, and the new version of these Terms will take effect, and will govern this Site and your relationship with us as follows:
17.1.1 commencing one month after the date of posting (or such later date as we indicate in the relevant posting); and
17.1.2 if you do not wish to be governed by the new version of these Terms, you may notify us in writing on or before the date when the new version of these Terms is to take effect and from that date you must cease to use this Site.

18. Links to Third-Party Sites

18.1. This Site may contain links and pointers to other Internet sites, resources, and supporters of the Site. Links to and from the Site to other third-party sites, maintained by third parties, do not constitute an endorsement by us of any third-party sites or the contents thereof.

19. Your Record of These Terms

19.1. We do not separately file the Terms entered into by each Service Provider using the Site. Please make a copy of these Terms for your records by printing and/or saving a downloaded copy of the Terms.

20. Miscellaneous

20.1. These Terms are intended to constitute the entire agreement between us and you with respect to your use of the Site. We may immediately terminate any Service Provider’s access to or use of the Site due to such user's breach of these Terms or other unauthorized use of the Site. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of any such right or provision. If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of these Terms, or portion thereof, to be unenforceable, that provision shall deemed severed, and the remainder of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.
20.2 We reserve the right to assign these Terms (and our agreement with you), but will not do so in such a way as to reduce any guarantees you are given under these Terms. You may not without our written consent assign these Terms (or your agreement with us).

21. Member Eligibility; Accuracy of Information

21.1. The Site may only be used by Service Providers who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law.
21.2. Each Service Provider further represents and covenants that any information submitted to the Site during such Service Providers’ registration with the Site shall be true and correct. Service Providers further agree to give notice to the Site by contacting us regarding any updates to any such contact information previously submitted by the member to the Site.

22. Content, Layout and Copy

22.1. We reserve the right to determine the design, layout and functionality of our Site.
22.2. We reserve the right to review and edit copy or amend the content, layouts or photographs supplied. All content and copy edits submitted by Service Providers are subject to review and approval by us.
22.3. Notwithstanding our right to edit and amend the content, copy and photographs, we do not accept and we shall not have any liability for any loss or damage resulting from the design or positioning of the copy, properties, content and/or photographs or any change made to any content, photograph or copy submitted by any member or edited or amended by us.

23. Photographs and Video

23.1. All printed (paper based) photographs submitted by a Service Provider will be discarded after we have scanned the same into our electronic database.
23.2. We will use reasonable efforts to reproduce faithfully any photograph submitted, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage or harm otherwise resulting from any defect in this regard.
23.3. By submitting a photograph either electronically through the Site or by mailing a paper photograph to our offices, the member represents and warrants that (a) (i) it holds all intellectual property rights with respect to each submitted photograph, or (ii) it has secured from the copyright holder all rights necessary for the photograph to be used in an online advertisement, (b) that any people in the photograph have given permission for their likeness to be displayed in an online advertisement, (c) that the photograph accurately and fairly represents the subject of the photograph and has not been altered in any manner that would mislead a viewer of that photograph.

24. Hypertext Links

24.1. We reserve the right to refuse hypertext links to, or addresses of, other web sites from Service Providers pages, and to remove links or web addresses without notice.

25. Termination of Use

25.1. We reserve the right to refuse any application. We may refuse to publish the listing for any reason, and each current or prospective Service Provider expressly agrees to release and hold us harmless from any loss or liability that may arise from such a decision.
25.2. If, in our reasonable discretion, any Service Provider submits unsuitable material to our Site or into our database, persistently misuses the Site or our online systems, or is in material breach of these Terms, we reserve the right to remove immediately such Service Provider from the Site without notice to the member.

The Warwickshire Directory provides useful information about local organisations, groups and agencies that provide activities, advice, and services which may support you.

We provide the information for you in good faith and make every effort to keep it accurate and up to date but we cannot guarantee this and so it is your responsibility to check the accuracy of the information before use. Supplier Approval Schemes (How do I know I can trust the supplier?)

Warwickshire County Council, Trading Standards has established an approval scheme for local suppliers.

The scheme:

  • "Buy with Confidence" for tradesmen offering products and services to Warwickshire residents


The scheme offers a number of benefits that include:

  • giving local suppliers a way to prove that they are a bona fide traders
  • providing a very clear logo to distinguish approved suppliers from the rest
  • giving Warwickshire citizens confidence to engage with local suppliers


To be approved, suppliers must:

  • have their background and trading credentials checked, according to the services offered
  • have their insurance, qualifications and training checked, according to the services offered
  • commit to the terms and conditions of the scheme
  • commit to a code of conduct designed to ensure customers are treated fairly
  • be listed in the Warwickshire Directory


Approval indicates that the supplier meets the required standards, it does not:

  • Guarantee the financial status of a supplier
  • Guarantee the quality or condition of any goods or services provided by the organisation
  • Guarantee that the price of goods and services supplied is competitive relative to any other organisation or is good value for money
